SHERWIN-WILLIAMS AUTOMOTIVE FINISHES TO HOLD SECOND ECOLEAN TRAINING PROGRAM IN LAS VEGAS

May 2009

Warrensville Heights, Ohio – Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corporation (SWAFC) announced it will hold a second A-Plus™ University EcoLean™ workshop at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, June 9 – 10, 2009.

The EcoLean workshop has been developed for collision shop owners and managers who are interested in leveraging the power of lean production as well as business solutions that reduce environmental waste. The inaugural EcoLean workshop, recently held in Los Angeles, evoked rave reviews from its sold-out number of shop owner and manager attendees.

“The EcoLean program included extensive training workshops, consulting services and an invaluable practical shop assessment guide,” said Marsh Gluchow, Owner and CEO, Valley Motor Center, Van Nuys, Calif. “The assessment included tools to generate measurable energy reductions using innovative products and equipment solutions and enables a collision center to identify areas of greatest environmental waste, how to build a waste reduction plan and track the results.”

The program is an industry first, combining two of the most powerful forces in today’s collision repair market: lean production and green business solutions. EcoLean allows collision repair shops to take advantage of these two important disciplines through a sustainable program to drive profitability through the reduction of waste.

EcoLean was built around an idea that SWAFC calls P3 TM, designed to help body shops improve their Productivity and Profitability, while reducing the environmental impact on our Planet, according to Rodes Brown, SWAFC Manager–Marketing Strategic Programs.

“We are excited with the response to our EcoLean program,” said Brown. “We see the market moving rapidly toward leaner and more environmentally responsible business models, and we have now built a compelling set of tools and services to help our customers drive efficiency and reduce waste, both financial and environmental.”
