SHERWIN-WILLIAMS AUTOMOTIVE RECEIVES GLOBAL TECHNICAL APPROVAL FROM JAGUAR LAND ROVER FOR SERVICE REPAIRS
September 2009
Warrensville Heights, Ohio – Jaguar Land Rover have approved the AWX® waterborne refinish system from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. (SWAFC) for refinish paint materials centers on a global basis. This is a result of SWAFC’s rigorous, extensive technical evaluation and excellent performance in testing to meet the Jaguar Land Rover standard specification.
"We are continually looking to develop new products and high standards of procedures to provide continuous and ongoing product quality improvements to help ensure customer satisfaction," said Craig Williams, SWAFC Director - OEM, Global Marketing, and Services. "Our mission is finding the right solutions for all our customers, and the approval of Sherwin-Williams Automotive refinish paint materials for Jaguar Land Rover service repairs is yet another affirmation of the superior standards we adhere to every day. It also demonstrates the Jaguar Land Rover’s confidence not only in the quality of our refinish materials, but in utilizing materials that are better for the environment."
For compliance without complications, Sherwin-Williams recently introduced AWX, an innovative waterborne basecoat/clearcoat system that utilizes a proprietary resin system that behaves like the solvent borne systems of today.
Unlike solvent borne basecoats of the past, AWX ensures up to a 96 percent reduction in VOC emissions while reducing hazardous waste generation. Yet because AWX has solvent borne-like application properties, it ensures a seamless transition and conversion. Many technicians are already familiar and comfortable with the process so it requires minimal training and start-up costs.
