Steps for Waterborne Conversion: Shop Owner / Manager

• Step 1: Arrange with a Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Sales Representative or Area Sales Manager to participate in an AWX® Townhall meeting at one of our six nationally located training centers.
• Step 2: Schedule a Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Sales Representative and Technician to visit your facility to conduct a full Facility Analysis focusing on Spray Booth, Air Movement/Supply and Equipment.
• Step 3: Review the results of the Facility Analysis so that Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes can help you install a waterborne system in the right environment for success.

• Step 4: Review the Facility Analysis with your local Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Sales Representative for: equipment needs (if applicable); product and program identification that will help you make the most out of your facility generating greater productivity and profits; and waterborne waste options with your local waste handler. Schedule time with Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes to equip your facility for proper waterborne installation and conversion timelines.

Steps for Waterborne Conversion: Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes

• Step 1: While painters are being trained, the Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes team will set up your AWX® waterborne basecoat system mixing bank, color tools, and FormulaExpress® on-line color formula retreival system.
• Step 2: Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes will deliver all necessary undercoats, clearcoats and ancillaries for a complete low VOC system.
• Step 3: Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes will work closely with your painters upon their return from training to get them up and running with the AWX® waterborne basecoat system. During this time, the Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finsihes team will work with painters on application techniques, color matching, drying recommendations, and FormulaExpress® color retreival system training. Note: best results are found if painters attend the AWX® training within three months from time of conversion.
