HP Process with Air-Bake™ Technology

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The HP Process ™ with Air-Bake™ Technology from Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes combines the simplicity of yesterday’s automotive paints with the innovative technologies of tomorrow. The HP Process cures at ambient (70-75ºF) room temperatures. This significantly reduces the energy requirements by eliminating the need for high temperature bake cycles to achieve a fast cure time. It is now possible to meet today’s cycle time goals and reduce the use of precious fossil fuels.

The HP Process is a patent pending automotive paint process that has received numerous certifications from OEM automotive manufacturers. The HP Process utilizes the finest primers, basecoats and urethane clearcoats to produce a finish that is workable to sand and polish in 40 minutes or less. These are some of the fastest cure times in the industry. Through the advances of our Research & Development teams, we have been able to achieve these groundbreaking results without the use of expensive UV equipment, convection ovens and fossil fuels. The results are flexibility, speed and ease that was associated with products of the past combined with the durability and uncompromising quality of products of the future.

The HP Process not only impacts your environment by reducing your carbon footprint, but the HP Process impacts your bottom line by helping you to paint more cars. Since the HPC15 Clearcoat only needs ambient temperature to achieve a 15-minute workable cure, there is no down time associated with temperature ramp up or cool down, no dark areas associated with ultra-violet lights or special waste disposal that are associated with UV Technologies. The HP Process only requires mainstream equipment, the ability to follow simple processes and forward thinking to harness all of the possible opportunities that lie ahead.

How would eliminating bake cycles affect your energy bills?

The HP Process using Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes proprietary AIR-BAKE™ Technology allows you to turn the heat off and repair cars faster than ever before! As energy bills continue to rise, the HP Process dramatically lowers energy costs and puts the savings back in your pocket.

How can you turn small repairs into a profit center?
The HP Process allows for same day repairs. Since the HP Process does not’t require a high temperature bake, any under-utilized shop space can be converted to a HP Process center.

How can you make a positive impact on your business and on the environment?
The HP Process allows you to turn off the heat, thus reducing carbon emissions and the dependency on fossil fuels used to heat the spray booth. The HP Process is another environmentally friendly technology developed by Sherwin-Williams to help preserve our natural resources.
