CHIPPING
(Nicks, Stone Pecks, Chips, Bruises)
Small areas of damage to the paint film leaving a nick, notch or void in the finish.
CAUSE
- Loss of adhesion of the paint film to the substrate caused by an impact from stones or other
hard objects.
REPAIR
- Sand and featheredge damaged areas to remove chips, then refinish.
PREVENTION
- Use premium two component undercoat and topcoat system.
- Use a flex agent in undercoat and/or topcoat system in areas that are prone to chipping.
